Founded in 1959, Cascade Swim Club is Washington's oldest year-round competitive swim club and a longstanding member of USA Swimming and Pacific Northwest Swimming. The nonprofit trains across Seattle city pools including Helene Madison, Ballard, and Rainier Beach, and its IM-based program is built to carry a swimmer from novice to national over three phases: Discover, Challenge, Achieve. Squads run Intro (for kids who have finished lessons and can swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke), Red and Navy for 12-and-under novices and improvers, Junior and Junior Performance for ages 10-14, and Senior and Senior Performance for high schoolers chasing Sectionals and Futures cuts. Cascade was the first club in PNS certified as a USA Swimming Safe Sport Club, and offers financial assistance and reduced-fee programs. New swimmers must complete a tryout before registering.
