SwimQwik was founded by Olympic swimmer Chris Chalmers and teaches at its own facility on NW Mall Street in Issaquah, using pools with warm flowing currents plus underwater mirrors and instant video feedback so swimmers can see and correct their own technique. Group lessons run at a 1-to-4 ratio and private lessons let families pick their instructor. Levels start at 6 months with Intro and Comfort and Safety classes, move through Water Safety and Stroke Foundation for ages 3 and up, and continue to technique refinement across all four competitive strokes, including video analysis for racing swimmers.
The teaching itself gets strong reviews, with instructors named individually and credited for building trust with nervous swimmers so they attempt skills they otherwise would not. Parents report concrete progress, including timid swimmers learning multiple strokes and coming to genuinely enjoy the water.
