Safe Aquatics ISR

Ages 0–6About this program
Independent Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) provider serving the greater Seattle area from a Kirkland base, teaching the ISR Self-Rescue survival swimming program rather than conventional group lessons. Children from about six months to six years work one-on-one with a certified instructor in short daily sessions over roughly five to six weeks: infants learn to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, while older toddlers learn the swim-float-swim sequence to get themselves to the side of a pool unaided.
Parents consistently describe patient, gentle and knowledgeable instructors and report that children from ten months to two years old finished a five- to six-week course able to swim, roll and float on their own; several families with backyard pools say the survival skills changed how safe they feel at home.
