A 1950 brick Seattle Parks and Recreation community center in northwest Seattle with a gym and stage, and one of the few city centres running a proper youth gymnastics ladder: Preschool Gymnastics for 3-4 year olds, Kinder Gymnastics for 5-6, and Gymnastics for ages 7-10, taught in ten-week autumn sessions at around $105-135 and shorter summer sessions at around $115. Shorin-Ryu Karate runs alongside it for ages 9 and up, in quarterly blocks. Loyal Heights also fields teams in the citywide All Gender Youth Volleyball league for ages 10-13 each fall, and is known locally for its preschool and an unusually large homeschool programme. Everything runs on the city's seasonal catalogue with fixed registration dates - fall community-centre registration opened Aug. 11, 2026 and winter opens Dec. 8 - so classes cannot be joined mid-session. Seattle Parks has a renovation project underway for this building covering structural work, electrification and interior programme spaces; the centre is open and programming normally, but expect disruption when construction begins.
Parents describe friendly, helpful staff and a centre where kids can be dropped into clubs and programmes or use the free open gym and playground; one calls it one of the best community centres in the Seattle area, and a two-decade dodgeball regular praises the historic gym.
