Seattle Parks and Recreation's community centre in northeast Seattle, next door to Meadowbrook Pool and between Nathan Hale High School and Jane Addams Middle School, teaches dance in its large multipurpose room across four age bands. Pre Ballet takes 3-5 year olds and Ballet 1 takes 6-10, each in two six-week autumn sessions at about $61 plus a summer session at about $74. Mini Bop is a movement class for 5-7 year olds and Video Pop and Jazz Fusion is a choreography class for 8-12, both running in two seven-week autumn sessions at about $110. This is seasonal city rec rather than a year-round studio: each session has its own start date and registration window on the city's quarterly catalogue, fall registration opened Aug. 11, 2026 and winter opens Dec. 8, and there is no rolling enrolment or year-long recital track. The centre also runs Shotokan Karate, kendo, basketball, robotics and Seattle Preschool Program classes.
Reviewers repeatedly call it one of the best community centres in the city - clean, spacious and packed with offerings for kids and adults - and single out friendly staff and a person-centred coordinator; the free tot gym, prek class and adjacent playground and trails also draw praise.
